Our Story
 

Sarah Olsen is a choreographer from Wappingers Falls, NY. After high school, she moved upstate to obtain her bachelor's degree from SUNY Potsdam with concentrations in Dance and Anthropology. It was there she found an interest in the intersection of movement, culture, and human expression. She believes it is important to acknowledge the historical, cultural and social contexts that influence movement. Dance is a means of storytelling, a collection of lived experience reflected through the artist's eye. She hopes viewers of her work will ask themselves,”what makes us human?”

Brooklyn Monet began her dance training at the age of 8 in her hometown of Syracuse, NY. During her 19 years of dance experience, she has obtained a degree in dance/composition at SUNY Potsdam and has taken part in various intensives with organizations such as Perry Mansfield & Christopher K Morgan. She is currently based in Long Island, NY as a dance instructor at Long Island Adolescent & Family Services. Being from humble beginnings herself, she is passionate about providing dance as a form of therapy to troubled youth in an authentic way. 

Cortney Nelsen began her dance training at the age of 12 in Queens, New York. She continued her training while earning her BA in Dance at SUNY Potsdam which allowed  her the opportunities to work with companies such as Christopher K. Morgan & Artists as well as to attend intensives such as the American Dance Festival. Cortney is currently a teacher at Rockaway Beach Dance Company where she choreographs for a multitude of students of varying ages across many dance styles.
